Katie's bachelorette party layout

Hi crafty friends! Here is a layout I did of my super duper neighbor Jessica (who moved and I miss TERRIBLY!) cousin's bachelorette party. I LOVE these color combos and papers!
*The background paper- "sparkly" white from Recollections
*The Riding Hood Red and Black are from Stampin' Up
*Pink Polka Dot-Me and My Big Idea (which were left-over pieces from another page I did a year ago!)
I used my Gypsy and the Wild Card font for the "bachelorette party" and "sept09" parts of the title.
I used the Once Upon a Princess "tag" for photo mats to mimic the sticker over this last picture. Then I punched the edges of the pictures with a corner rounder.
I LOVE Thickers! I layered the letters for more dimension and a funky look!
I used my new Martha Stewart border punch for the loops, and rub-ons for the stitches. I really want to get into sewing on my pages, but first I need to get a sewing machine and then I need to learn to sew! ;)
Last, I adorned my pages with stickers and bling!

Thanks for stopping by today! I am working on my team gifts and decor for my classroom. I will be posting all of those soon! I LOVE the beach! Just thinking about it makes me feel calm! So, I am doing a "Surfin' through 2nd grade" theme (with a Hawaiian twist!).

Dave Matthew's Band layout

I don't do very many "one" page layouts, but here is another one. The background paper and border are from My Mind's Eye, and the white paper is from Recollections. I used the Cherry Limeade "shadow" font, and Home Decor for the flourishes.
The border is clear with dark blue flourishes. I put a piece of light blue paper behind it so that the pattern would show.

I also added some clear and blue bling...of course!
This was a quick and easy layout and a fast post!

Sad to say that I have to return to work on Monday, and then the student come back the following week. I will still be posting projects, but it will probably not be as frequent. Please "stick" with me! I am working on something cute for my "new" teammates and hope to post them soon!

Nascar layout

Hello fellow crafters! This is a layout that I did at one of my recent scrapbooking crops. Ok, so if you know me you know that I am definitely not a "Nascar" girl (as you will see in the picture below, my friends made fun of me because I wore a fancy headband). I went for my hubbie, and realized that it wasn't too bad as long as you are not sitting too close. Something else that made it not so bad, the fair food! Aah, I can taste the grilled corn now!
This is my simple Nascar layout:
The papers and borders are from My Mind's Eye, and the big arrow is from Scenic Route. The small arrows are from the Don Juan cartridge. I used glue lines under the Stampin' Up ribbon, and then "fan folded" the ribbon back and forth on top of its self. I also stapled the ribbon in areas for a "rugged" look.
To make the title I used Don Juan's Under Pressure font, embossed the letters with the Cuttlebug Houndstooth folder, and then inked around the edges with Tim Holtz's distress ink tea dye.
At the crop we all received a little bag that had chocolates and a coupon in it. There was some twine attaching our name tag to the bag. I took the twine and tied it around "3" of my letters. Does anyone know where to get this thin twine at a great price? I want to start adding it to everything!
This was a quick layout, and a quick post. Hope you enjoyed it! Here's to grilled corn on the cob! Yum! ;)

Are you a Scrapbooker?! Guest Designer Post

This is my Guest Designer Post for She's A Sassy Lady today! Please hop over to She's A Sassy Lady by clicking HERE and leave me a comment. Thanks! :)

Hi Everyone! My name is Kristy, I am a Scrapbooker, and a Picture-aholic! Everywhere we go I bring my camera and take TONS of pictures! I LOVE to scrapbook and preserve the special and even ordinary moments of my family's lives. I am NOT a "one" picture on a page kind of girl. I wish I could, but I always have soooo many pictures that I want to put on a page. Do you ever have that problem? If you do, I have a tip for you today. Here is what you will need: {plus your pictures}
I used Fabulous Finds to cut out these great hinges at 2". My pictures are 4" x 5 1/4" so I cut my paper at 4 1/2" x 5 1/2".
Then I scored each piece at 4".
Next, I attached the pictures to my papers by lining up the edge of the picture to the scored line.
I place the pictures onto the scrapbook page (where I wanted them and glued down the bottom picture/paper), and then lined up the hinges. Then I used a large thumb tack (you can get these at office supply stores) to pierce the holes for my brads.
Put the brads through the hinges and papers.
For this one I was able to attach "2" pictures and will also have room for journaling under the bottom picture.
On this page I had "5" pictures that I wanted to attach. If you are going to attach more than "2" pictures you will want to use a thinner type of paper.
Here it is attached and it is not too bulky!
I hope you enjoyed this "tip", and are able to use it soon! This is just one way to add more pictures to your pages. I was able to put "5" pictures on the first page of my layout, and "8" pictures on the second page of layout (and I didn't even have to cut any of them down)!

I will be posting the finished scrapbook pages on my blog soon! So please "pop" on over to Craftin-on-my-door to check them out! Thanks Sheila for letting me be a guest designer today at She's a Sassy Lady! Wishing you all a great day, and hoping you all have at least a little time to craft today! ;)

It's Definitely HER Room!

Hi Crafty Friends! Our Little One is having a heck of a time with teething, right now. She is definitely not her sweet, little precious self. She is also going through the 9 month stage of, "I want my mommy to hold me all the time and NEVER leave my sight!" She is absolutely a huge BLESSING and I LOVE her dearly, but I have decided that I am permanently changing the Little One's nickname from Our Little Pickle Princess to...
Our Little Stinkerbella! It's cute and right now totally has the "stinker" part right!

There are a few things that I have been wanting to do in her room, and one includes getting her name up on the wall. Well, this week I finally got it up. (This has been something I have been working on for at least a month! In fact, if you look at the picture of my desk/door at the top of the blog you will see where I painted the letters white and had them out to dry.)
My Super Duper friend Shannon bought these for the Little Stinkerbella, and I started by painting them white. Next, I used a Me and My Big Ideas paper stack that had a Hawaiian feel to it, and a "little" flower punch. I used a different sheet of paper for each letter, and must have punched out thousands of flowers. I really should have used my trusty Cricut! My hand was killing me the next day! :)
I used Mod Podge to adhere the little flowers, but I didn't put a coat on top because I liked the textured look.
When I was finished with that LONG task (and after they dried) I cut ribbon and adhered them on the back with tacks.
The tan heart knobs used to be blue, but since there is no blue in Stinkerbella's room we spray painted them with Primer {Thanks Shannon!} and then sprayed them tan to match some of the Hawaiian leaves on her bedspread.
I think it turned out pretty cute! The "S" was a little low, but we fixed that later. I may still add a big flower to some of the letters, but haven't decided yet?!
I had 2 more of the heart knobs so I hung them above her crib, and then hung a couple of little costumes from them!
Next, I want to paint her room (I know, I should have done that first, but I don't always do everything the easy way...I do it the "Crafty" way)! Thanks for stopping by :)
p.s. I promise I am STILL working on the blog candy! I have 6 of the 14 almost done!

You are my SUNSHINE layout

A while back I found Sketches In Thyme. I have been wanting to submit an entry for one of their challenges, and today while the Little One was taking a nap I finally had a chance to put a layout together. Here is the sketch for Challenge #9:
And here is what I came up with:
I have to say, "I LOVE my Gypsy!" I used it to help me "search" for all of the cuts I wanted, to make my sun HUGE, and to weld my "you are my" together.
*The sun is from Gypsy wanderings and was cut at 11.59" (height).
*The "You are my" is from the Feeling Groovy (Loooove this font!) Lite cart and was cut at 2".
*The "Sunshine"(cut at 2.50") and shadow (cut at 2.53") are also from Gypsy wanderings.
*The puffy clouds are from Create a Critter and were cut at 1.82", and the outline clouds are from Graphically Speaking and were cut at 1.59".

Papers are from Stampin' Up. I used Baja Breeze stamp pad to ink around the edges of "you are my," and the clouds.

I also used a brown Bazzill scallop border to add some dimension. Then I "sugared" my SUNSHINE phrase by putting it in my Xyron upside down and then used Starbright gold glitter. Lastly, I used SU's dimensionals to "pop" up the phrase.
I added the date and "Two Weeks New!" using Making Memories Alphababies stickers.
Just as I was finishing up this layout I came across Frosted Designs challenge "Celebrate Life," and I thought that this would also fit in perfect over there too! This precious Little Pickle Princess has been 6 YEARS in the making, and this story is absolutely amazing! We celebrate her and our lives together DAILY! Adoption is a beautiful blessing! Here's to my Little Sunshine and all of you! :)

Crop Flip Flops and "Squirrel"

Hi EVERYONE! I went to a crop yesterday at one of my local scrapbook stores. I only got "4" pages completed!!! Yikes, where does the time go? Do I talk too much, or help others too much?? Ha Ha! There's NO such thing as "helping others too much!" I LOVE to help others! I had the chance to help one of my friends {understand} her Gypsy better, another friend fall in love with the Cricut, and even met a new friend and helped her learn "how to" use the Cricut for the first time!

The crop was a summer "Flip Flop" crop. The scrapbook store gave everyone a pair of flips:
A stash of stuff:
And then told us to "create" and make them our own! Here's how mine turned out:
I think they turned out pretty darn cute! I will use my E6000 and really glue everything down now that I'm home.

I also made a card for my super fabulous husband! He had a "bonding" day with the Little Pickle Princess  and her teething craziness! They even went to the mall and had lunch together! I'm sure he totally got "hit" on because of the little Cutie he had with him! ;)
This card is a story within its self! Our friends have an amazing, precious, and dear to our {hearts} little girl named Gracie! She lights up any room she walks into! (Seriously, you just want to squeeze her!) Gracie has Down Syndrome, and learned Sign Language before she could really talk.We met Gracie when she was just about 3. She would run down the hallway in the school I worked at, and run straight into my classroom (I didn't have her big sister in my kindergarten class, but what can I say she just loves me!). She would put her hand to her cheek and sign a "K", and say "itty!" (She now says "Kristy" and it makes me kinda sad) One night when my hubbie and I were at her house we were all talking about my husband being a "nut." Right away Gracie starting signing "nut", and saying "Squirrel." To this day she still calls him "Squirrel," and when she first met the Little Pickle she said "Little Squirrel?"!!! Ha ha ha!
So, hence the cute little squirrel on the card:

I used Create a Critter and cut everything at 4 1/4" except for the acorns those were cut at 2". I used the My Pink Stampers punnylicious stamp set.
I'm excited to show you the "4" pages I finished and will be posting them soon!
Thanks for stopping, now go make something! :)
